Digital safety
Cyberbullying
Cyberbullying happens through digital devices and online spaces such as messaging, social platforms, forums, and gaming communities.
Why online situations can spread quickly
Digital content can be copied, shared, viewed by large audiences, and remain accessible. That can make online harm feel hard to escape.
General steps to consider
- Avoid retaliating or starting a public fight.
- Save relevant messages, posts, usernames, dates, or screenshots when appropriate.
- Use platform blocking, muting, and reporting tools where appropriate.
- Review privacy and account-security settings.
- Tell a trusted adult or school professional if the situation is affecting your safety or school experience.
- Use established resources for additional guidance.
